The Saft Smart Selector tool gives developers the chance to explore the best possible battery solution for their device – and it is continually being updated as new products and variables come to the fore.

Since launching in late 2020, the Saft Smart Selector tool has had thousands of visits, helping IoT application designers to choose the right battery for their device by guiding them through seven simple steps. By defining the parameters of their application and the requirements of a battery, it identifies the optimal solution.

Now, it is even smarter!

The latest update to the Saft Smart Selector includes an additional connectivity protocol (Mioty), and it adds our range of LSP primary lithium cells with energy and charge boosting capacitors.

Seven simple steps: 1. What environment will the application be deployed in? 2. What is the purpose of the application? 3. Will it be deployed indoors or outdoors? 4. Where will it be used around the globe? 5. What connectivity solution is being used? 6. How frequently will the device transmit data? 7. What is the application's expected lifetime?

The Saft Smart Selector was designed to evolve over time.

Isabelle Sourmey, Business Applications Manager in Saft’s Connected Smart Energy Division, said: “We’ve always got to keep an eye on the horizon and update the Smart Selector to keep in line with the trends we’re seeing in the IoT landscape.”
